San Francisco Illustrator and Fine Artist, Lisa Congdon

Raised in upstate New York and Northern california, Lisa Congdon grew to love the trees and animals that surrounded her. That love now manifests itself in much of her paintings and drawings. Coming from a family of creative people, Lisa has been making things with her hands since she was very small.

She is also a prolific collector of old and unusual things, including bits of nature, and surrounds herself with these things in her home and studio. In 2010 she chronicled all of her collections in her Collection A Day 2010 Project that spanned exactly one year.

On each of those 365 days Congdon posted a photograph of one of her collections on her blog, A Collection A Day. Here is a very small sample:

Day 24, Vintage Bobbins

Day 68, Boy Scout Cards

Day 126, Metal, Plastic & Wood Fives

Day 361, Vintage Matchbooks

You can view all 365 collections on the original blog here. A Collection A Day is also now a book, published by UPPERCASE. Order the book here.
